A useful App for your mobile phone If you download the Highways England App for your mobile phone it will give you lots of useful information for the roads and junctions no's where there is a delay due to road works, an accident or just to check for bad weather.  They have web cams which update very frequently and show the live traffic on roads. So you can see straight away if you are going to have trouble on your journey.   Download this useful app and you will always have the info at your finger tips.

A1 to close this weekend while new bridge is installed Drivers are being advised that the A1 in North Yorkshire will be closed for 34 hours this weekend as Fort Bridge, near Catterick Racecourse, is replaced as part of the A1 Leeming to Barton major road scheme. The original Fort Bridge was demolished last November to allow space for an extra lane to be added to the road as part of the major upgrade to the A1. Information on Sour Beck spillages. Waters that are suitable for bathing are classed as such under the Bathing Water Directive (details of which are available on the website).  The majority of designated Bathing Waters in this country are on the coast with very few inland watercourses being designated. Sour Beck is not designated as a bathing water.  The Environment Agency is responsible for checking compliance with the Directive and samples are taken during the official Bathing Water season from April/May...
