NORTH YORKSHIRE WATER INFORMATION ON WORKS ON COLBURN LANE JUNCTION & ST GILES PARK WORKS BEGIN 1ST FEB FOR APPROX 8 WEEKS

PLANNED WATER WORKS - A6136 Catterick Road Junction of Colburn Lane & St Giles Park, Works starts 1st Feb for 8 weeks

Currently planning some work, in consultation with North Yorkshire County Council highways department to lay a new water main on the A6136 Catterick Road between the roundabout junction of Colburn Lane and the junction with St Giles Park which is near to Lidl supermarket.

The new main is required to ensure we can continue to supply high quality drinking water to local customers and businesses, increase resilience in our network at times of peak demand and also supply new developments in the area.

Our partners Fastflow Pipeline Services will be completing the work on our behalf and expect the work will take approximately 8 weeks to complete. Highway permits have been applied for and are to commence this work on Monday 1 February 2021.

Our normal working hours will be 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday but sometimes progress on the day may mean we may need to work a little later.

As we need to work in the highway, we've liaised closely with North Yorkshire County Council Highways Department. For the safety of road users and our site team it will be necessary to have temporary traffic lights in operation 24 hours a day as we work in short sections of the road which will move as our work progresses.

These lights will be operator controlled at peak times to try and reduce traffic congestion.

The lights will be multi-way depending on the junctions and our working strip will be approximately 12o metres long which will move as our work progresses.

All our working areas will be restored as we progress.

When we are ready to connect the new water pipes, we may need to interrupt customers water supply for a short period. If this is necessary, we’ll notify them of the dates and times in advance if they will be affected.

We'll do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum and complete the work as quickly as possible.

We’ll arrange some media and social media to make the local communities aware.

If you’ve any questions, please contact myself or our customer experience team on 0344 848 1099 (Monday to Thursday 8am to 5.30pm and 8am to 5pm on Friday) and quote reference Capital YW.201375.
